The Intern, The Importance of Someone to Share with

The importance of someone to share with is one message that i can capture from The Intern. Ben (Robert Deniro) is a bored retired man with his routine that make him feel like not needed. That’s why he apply for senior intern position in fashion company that owned by Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway).

Jules is a busy woman that makes her doing her job unorganized. It makes Becky (Christina Scherer), her assistant so dizzy until she has to go back home at 11 PM and go to office at 7 AM. Ben, who follow intern programme placed below Jules supervision, the super busy owner. And this is the beginning of their story.

Someone to share with

Julie is an ignorant person, even with her parents. Try to look alright in office, but deeply Jules keep a lot of problems. Her husband is cheating and she needs to find a new CEO who has more experience than her to be her boss (even though she’s really hate this idea).

In the beginning, Jules thinking that Ben is only a retired man and no need to give him a lot of tasks. Jules feels uncomfort with Ben, for her Ben is too observant. But that’s Ben, initiative, friendly, wise and tender. In this movie you will see a scene where Ben only wants to go home if Jules finish her job.

In many opportunity, Ben shows that he’s really respect  Jules as his leader even though she’s younger than him. Ben buy a soup for Jules without her asking because sometime Jules miss her time to lunch. And then Ben ask Jules’s drunk driver for not delivering Jules, instead Ben deliver Jules to her destination.

Even Jules disturbed with Ben, finally Jules realize Ben sincerity. For Jules, Ben can make anyone else feel better. That’s why Jules tells him about her problem, including about her household. Ben placed himself as a listener than trying to be a person who knows everything.

And that’s how Ben and Jules’relationship begin. For Jules, Ben is her best friend. Another person that she trust to keep her secret. Being extroverted is difficult, and Jules feels it too. Jules, and us sometimes too busy to find anyone else that love us tenderly.

We don’t know what’s going to happen if Jules transfer Ben to another department. Actually, sharing can make us feel lighter.  And sharing make us realize that we’re not alone, there’s someone else who can love us tenderly.

Trust Yourself

After several time interview candidates to become her boss, Jules decide not to recruit CEO to become her boss. Simple reason, personally Jules doesn’t need anyone else to give her guidance. Jules believe that she can lead her own company, “About The Fit” to be better. Jules consider to recruit CEO only for saving her marriage.

In the end, Jules realize that she believe herself more than anyone else to lead her company. No matter what Cameron (Andrew Rannels) always ask her to find CEO, Jules believes she can keep on doing it without anybody help.

Team : Completing Each Other

This movie show you how Jules life as a super busy mother, wife and owner. Instead, her husband, Matt (Anders Holm) to handle all household matter.

Jules and Matt marriage is not perfect. But when you see what Matt has left for his marriage, we know that completing each other in a team is necessary. It will make us tired, and it’s not easy. But when we can completing each other, a process to reach our goals won’t be as difficult like when we face it alone.

The Intern show us how we can make a relationship to other and also how we can trust ourself. Like Ben and Jules’s relationship, have you find anyone else that you trust ? No matter how strong you are, no matter how smart you are, you’re not superman who has super power to do everything alone. You have emotion, and this is the role for anyone else that you trust to keep you strong when you’re weak.
